Your journey starts here.

I offer individual, couples, and family therapy that is relationally-centered, systemically-oriented, and tailored to the unique struggles and hopes of the persons I’m meeting with.

Individual Therapy

I provide individual therapy to persons in search of meaning-making, connecting the dots of lived experiences and preferences.

Couples Therapy

I help couples improve their communication with one another, inviting them to listen and be together in new ways.

Family Therapy

I work with families in all of life’s stages, whose relationships might be close or distant, loving or troubling, nourishing or depleting.

Supervision

I offer clinical supervision and consultation to individual therapists and practices, as well as training to agencies and programs.

Finding your truth and new direction

I’m inspired by storytellers, those who can make sense of complication, hardship, and heartbreak, who speak of possibility and purpose. I understand storytelling to be a uniquely human skill. I enjoy being able to lend a hand (and ear) in its cultivation.

Hi, I'm Billy! It's nice to meet you.

I started my practice with a vision of helping others help themselves and their loved ones in realizing what’s important to them, creating a ripple outward that in turn helps their lived-in communities. I greatly value the relationships I develop with and amongst persons I’m meeting with, the hallmarks of which are a “being in it together,” honesty, and a deep knowing of one another.

Answering your Questions

How long is a session?

Individual sessions are typically 45-50 minutes. Couples and Family sessions are 50-60 minutes. We can plan for additional time, as needed, to ensure our conversation ends at a good point to place a bookmark.

Yes! These conversations have the potential to invite topics that are latent at the start. Initially, we will spend time discussing who you are and how you understand you’ve become the person you are.

No, though I am able to refer you to psychiatrists and other prescribing physicians. Regardless, your ideas about medication are worth our exploration.

No. I am a sole practitioner. I am linked with a vast network of other providers through which I can seek additional support and offer referrals.

Your confidence in the fit between you and your provider is an important indicator of therapeutic success. I will gladly provide you with referrals to other psychotherapists.

I’d like to say “Yes!” However, therapy might not be right at the moment. Personal growth and fulfillment can occur in many different settings – at home, work, a religious institution, hiking, listening to music, talking with a friend, reading, etc.

The better question to ask is “when is therapy right for me?” I’d be happy to discuss this question and your answer further with you.

As an LCSW, I am able to provide a diagnosis should you hope to be reimbursed by your insurance company for our work together. Upon a request of such, I will be curious to better understand what the diagnosis might mean to you.

There are certainly pros and cons of labeling – diagnostic or otherwise. If you decide it would be helpful to have, I will provide the least stigmatizing diagnosis that fits your circumstances.

Wake up to find out that you are the eyes of the world.
The heart has its beaches, its homeland and thoughts of its own.
Wake now, discover that you are the song that the morning brings.
But the heart has its seasons, its evenings and songs of its own.
